Results of a new survey indicate the happiest days of 2012 for Americans were holidays. Gallup and Healthways reasearchers released the report, which is based on 350-thousand telephone surveys taken every day over the course of 2012.
The “happiest” days of 2012, according to the survey, included: Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, New Year’s Day and Mother’s Day. The “saddest” days of the year included: Wednesday August 22nd, Monday September 17th, November 6th, which was Election Day, Wednesday November 7th, and Friday December 14th, the day of the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Overall the survey found that 2012 was not as “happy” as 2011.
Specifically, 48-percent of those surveyed said they experienced a lot of happiness or enjoyment without a lot of stress or worry over the year, while 48.4-percent said the same thing about the year 2011. (Huffington Post)
