Mom's Oyster Stew
Ingredients
- 1 qt heavy cream
- ½ cup butter
- 12 ounces raw oysters (undrained)
- Sea salt
- Fresh ground pepper
Directions
- Bring cream to just under simmer, maintain heat for ten minutes.
- Add room temperature butter to cream, stir until completely melted.
- Add oysters, including juices (liquor) to cream and butter mixture.
- Cook until edges of oysters begin to curl.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
If you like it a little spicy, you can add cayenne pepper to taste.
This dish also goes well with green onions, crackers and mild white cheeses on the side.
