Chocolate Star Cookies

From Tim White, On Air

Here’s another favorite from my childhood. My Mom would make these Chocolate Star Cookies every holiday season. The trick was trying to get them made before I’d eat all of the chocolate stars (she learned to hide 'um).  It’s also a good recipe to let the kids help with too. They can roll the dough and add the stars. Get the recipe

Swedish Spritz Cookies

From Mary Day, On Air

This is the recipe for the cookies my mother used to make every Christmas. We traditionally had a Swedish Christmas dinner and Spriz cookies were always my favorite Christmas cookie.  They are delicious, light and melt in your mouth. Enjoy! Get the recipe

Italian Beef

From Jay Wells, On Air

It is perfect for large gatherings — and especially those all-day munchfests that happen around the holidays. It's also a great conversation-starter for people who are either from or have visited Chicago (it's a traditional Windy City sandwich). Get the recipe

Mom's Oyster Stew

From Kate Garner, On Air

Almost every year during the holidays I request this simple meal.  A number of others in my family think it’s disgusting because of the oysters. But their richness with the cream and butter make this a decadent example of my Mother’s love. And it warms me through no matter how cold it is outside. Get the recipe
